The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office charges a filing fee of $350 per class for a 10-year period. Classifications refer to business categories determined by the federal lawyers. They assess the applications and, based on the nature of the business, the goods/services offered, and the mode of operation (physical or online), assign the appropriate classifications to protect the overall nature and functionality of the business. We do not determine which classifications should be assigned, nor do we have any authority in the classification process.
